Have you never wondered…
…why keyboards don’t have the lower case letters printed on them? They show you F G H, but when you type you get f g h by default (unless you add that extra step of using the Shift or Caps Lock keys).

Huh. That’s something I’d never thought about until just this second. Something to do with movable type, perhaps? As in, a leftover convention?
Or perhaps it’s just so you know exactly which letters you’re looking at. P, B, D, G, and Q are somewhat easier to distinguish in their capital forms, whereas p, b, d, g, and q are far more similar.
