Huh. That’s something I’d never thought about until just this second. Something to do with movable type, perhaps? As in, a leftover convention?

Or perhaps it’s just so you know exactly which letters you’re looking at. P, B, D, G, and Q are somewhat easier to distinguish in their capital forms, whereas p, b, d, g, and q are far more similar.
